DO NOT:  Turn on or off any light switches or other electrical switches.

DO NOT: Start your vehicle if nearby.

DO NOT: Open or close windows.

Remain away form the affected area until an authorized representative from East Central Oklahoma Gas Authority informs you it is safe to return. If your service has been shut off due to a leak, do not turn it back on yourself. A qualified employee is the only person authorized to perform this task.

 

SMELL: A rotten egg smell. Natural gas is naturally odorless, so an odorant called mercaptan has been added to warn you of a natural gas leak.

SIGHT: Dead or brown vegetation in an otherwise moist or green field. Dirt being blown into air or continuous bubbling in wet and flooded areas.

SOUND: If you hear a hissing, roaring or blowing sound around a natural gas pipe, meter or appliances.

Call 811. Oklahoma law requires you must provide notice before any excavation/digging begins. OKIE811 is a free service. There is no charge to you when calling 811.

Contact our office at 918-489-5592 to request the amount due or a duplicate of the bill. 

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas that can make you sick and under certain circumstances can be deadly. This may include improper ventilation or malfunctioning appliances. If you range, furnace, or hot water heater is burning a yellow flame instead of a blue flame, it's a sign that the natural gas is not burning properly. Another potential warning sign is if you have a headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, or vomiting. If you have any of these signs, leave the area immediately and call 911, then East Central Oklahoma Gas Authority at 918-489-5592 or 918-705-0125. 

If you smell gas call 911, then East Central Oklahoma Gas Authority at 918-489-5592 or 918-705-0125. Damages to the pipeline coatings such as scrapes or dents need to be inspected by a qualified company employee, even if you don't smell gas, but to prevent future leaks. Do not cover the damage with dirt or debris or try to repair damages yourself.
